1. Overview of BNU ADIIEE
Beijing Normal University (BNU) is a national key “985 Project” and “Double First-Class” (Class A) university directly under the Ministry of Education, consisting of Beijing Campus and Zhuhai Campus. It ranks among the top universities in the country. In the 2016 4th round national level disciplinary evaluation, the number of A+ disciplines in BNU ranked No. 6 nationwide, and 12 disciplines entered the national list of "world-class disciplines". The environment/ecology discipline is the first one entering the ESI top 0.1% with worldwide citations ranking 88/1258 (top 0.07%). The water resources engineering ranked 1st in China and 3rd in the world by the GRAS ranking in 2020. In the 2021 Times Higher Education China Subject Ratings, BNU received A+ for Environmental Science and Engineering, A+ for Ecology, A for Geography, and A for Hydraulic Engineering.
Initiated by Professor Yang Zhifeng, the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, BNU established Advanced Interdisciplinary Institute of Environment and Ecology (ADIIEE) on the Zhuhai campus to fulfill the need of constructing the “Double First-Class” university. ADIIEE aims to explore the scientific frontiers and tackle major scientific and technological challenges that cannot be solve by a single discipline. We emphasize to integrate the strengths from multiple disciplines and conduct researches and tackle challenges through interdisciplinary collaborations. We aim at meeting the national needs of developing world-class higher education and advanced technology center, leading the research and innovation frontiers in the environmental and ecological field at international levels, and establishing a world-renowned interdisciplinary research and innovation highland in sustainable development, and supporting university’s "double first-class" construction and "one body and two wings" development goals.

3. Postdoctoral Recruitment Category
(1) Liyun Postdoctoral Fellow: A high-end postdoctoral program of BNU, recruiting outstanding doctoral graduates with good moral standards and top scientific research and innovation ability.
(2) National Postdoctoral Fellows: Jointly funded by the national postdoctoral special funds and BNU under the National Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program, the International Exchange Program Introduction Project, the International Exchange Program Dispatch Project, the Hong Kong Scholars Program, the Macau Young Scholars Program, and the Sino-German Program.
(3) Postdoctoral fellows at Zhuhai Campus: Actively recruiting postdoc fellows nationwide and worldwide.
4. Requirements of the post-doctor
(1) Obtain a doctorate degree from a well-known university or research institution at home and abroad. The requirements of Liyun Postdoctoral Fellows and Postdoctoral fellows at Zhuhai Campus refer to the requirements of postdoctoral fellows in the National Postdoctoral Management Committee's "International Exchange Program Introduction Project" and "Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program". (2) Abide Chinese laws, under the age of 35, obtained a doctorate degree within three years, and work full-time in BNU after receiving the offer.
5. Salary and benefits
(1) The annual salary of Liyun postdoctoral fellow is 300,000 yuan (before tax) with an annual housing allowance of 50,000 yuan. Postdoctoral apartments are provided based on a first-come-first-serve principle. During employment period, children are eligible to apply for university’s primary/high schools or kindergarten.
(2) The annual salary of National postdoctoral fellows is 350,000 yuan (before tax) with an annual housing allowance of 50,000 yuan. Postdoctoral apartments are provided based on a first-come-first-serve principle. During employment period, children are eligible to apply for university’s primary/high schools or kindergarten.
(3) Postdoctoral fellow at Zhuhai Campus:
a. Category 1: Postdoctoral fellows who meet the relevant requirements for selection of postdoctoral fellows in national projects such as the National Postdoctoral Management Committee's "International Exchange Program" and the "Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program" and other national projects, the salary is 400,000 yuan/year (before tax).
b. Category 2: Postdoctoral fellows who meet the existing assessment requirements will receive a salary of 300,000 yuan per year (before tax).
c. During employment period, postdoctoral fellows can apply for a start-up funding of 50,000 yuan.
d. During employment period, postdoctoral fellows can rent postdoctoral apartments on campus, and their children are eligible to apply for university’s primary/high schools or kindergarten.
